NZ funder directory

Find the right funder before writing the application.

Filter the starter directory by purpose, region and funder type. Dates and criteria change, so each card links to the official source.

Important: do not copy-paste one application into every funder. Match the project to the funder’s authorised purpose, geography, eligible costs and reporting requirements.

No funders match those filters. Clear one filter or search a broader term.

Application order

Apply in the order that reduces waste.

1

Local fit

Start with council, regional sport trust, local community trust, and funders linked to your region. Geography is usually a hard filter.

2

Purpose fit

Match equipment, travel, facility, youth, arts, wellbeing or social outcomes to a funder that explicitly supports that purpose.

3

Evidence fit

Only lodge when you have quotes, budget, bank proof, entity status and reporting capacity ready.
